Sataya South is a breathtaking reef located in the southern Red Sea, forming part of the famous Sataya Reef system, also known as the Dolphin Reef. This site is best known for its resident population of spinner dolphins, making it one of the top locations in Egypt for dolphin encounters. The reef features shallow coral gardens, sandy slopes, and deeper drop-offs, catering to divers of all experience levels. With mild currents and excellent visibility, Sataya South is perfect for relaxed reef dives, snorkeling, and underwater photography.

When to visit
Best Time To Dive
Sataya South offers excellent diving conditions year-round, but the best time to visit is between April and November when water temperatures range from 24°C to 30°C. During these months, visibility is at its peak, and marine life activity is highest. The calm, warm waters make this an ideal destination for divers and snorkelers seeking an unforgettable dolphin experience.

Wildlife
Sataya South is famous for its large pods of spinner dolphins, which often approach divers and snorkelers in the shallow lagoons. The reef itself is vibrant, with thriving coral formations supporting a variety of marine life. Schools of fusiliers, snappers, and goatfish move along the reef, while blue-spotted stingrays rest on the sandy bottom. Green turtles are commonly spotted, along with reef sharks patrolling the deeper edges. The coral structures are home to numerous small critters, including nudibranchs and cleaner shrimp, making it a great spot for macro photography.
