Located approximately 8 km north of Dahab’s Blue Hole, Ras Abu Galum is a secluded dive site within the Ras Abu Galum Protected Area, established in 1992. Accessible traditionally by camel or more recently by speedboat, this area offers divers an untouched underwater experience complemented by the serene beauty of the Sinai Peninsula. The site features a combination of lagoons, offshore reefs, and coral pinnacles, making it suitable for divers seeking both relaxation and adventure.

Diving at Ras Abu Galum is favorable year-round; however, the optimal periods are between March and June and September to December. During these months, water temperatures range from 22°C to 28°C, and visibility is at its peak, ensuring a comfortable and enriching diving experience. Early morning dives are recommended for the best light and marine activity.

Ras Abu Galum boasts vibrant coral gardens teeming with marine biodiversity. Divers can encounter turtles, barracudas, and occasionally eagle rays gliding gracefully through the water. The unique rock formations and large pinnacles serve as cleaning stations, attracting various species and offering excellent opportunities for underwater photography. The northern part of the site is particularly renowned for its lush coral gardens, providing a habitat for numerous reef fish and invertebrates.
